# MongoDB Hackathon, October 2026

> Modelence resources and credits for the MongoDB x Cerebral Valley hackathon at Shack15 on October 11, 2026

<Info>
  **Sunday, October 11, 2026** at Shack15, San Francisco. Co-hosted by MongoDB and Cerebral Valley.
</Info>

Welcome! Modelence is a platform for building and hosting apps. Every app comes with a MongoDB Atlas
database and hosting out of the box, so you can spend the day on your
project instead of on infrastructure. This page has everything you need to get
something live before demos and earn credits for it.

## Credits and prizes

Deploy your hackathon project on Modelence and we'll add **\$100 in Modelence credits** to your account.
There's no promo code to enter, since we add the credits on our end.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Create an account">
    Sign up for free at [cloud.modelence.com](https://cloud.modelence.com).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Deploy your project">
    Follow [Start building](#start-building) below to get your project live on Modelence Cloud.
  </Step>
</Steps>

The top three teams also get Modelence credits as prizes:

| Place | Prize |
| - | - |
| 1st | \$1,000 |
| 2nd | \$500 |
| 3rd | \$200 |

## Start building

Build with your own coding agent, whether that's Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex.

### Starting a new project

Ask your coding agent to create the app and connect it to Modelence Cloud, which provisions a MongoDB
database for your local environment:

```text theme={null}
Use https://modelence.com/skill.md to create a new Modelence app and connect it to a local environment
```

When you're ready to ship, ask it to deploy:

```text theme={null}
Use https://modelence.com/skill.md to deploy this project
```

### Bringing an existing app

If your team already has an app, you can still host it on
Modelence Cloud and get a provisioned MongoDB Atlas database injected as `MONGODB_URI`. Point your coding
agent at the deploy guide:

```text theme={null}
Use https://modelence.com/skill.md to deploy to Modelence
```
